30 Days of Gaga: Day 13

I’ve not gotten lighter, and the earth’s gravity has not changed, yet somehow, my body has figured out a better way to get up.

Day 13

I’m trying to have less ambition.

But if I were to allow myself one teeny tiny ambition, it would be to leave Tel Aviv with a really awesome shake.

Is that too much to ask?

As you lower yourself to the ground, keep your shake.”

Impossible!

Keeping the shake is hard enough. When I lower to the ground, I lose it immediately.

Get up while shaking…. Get down while shaking…

Damn, I keep losing the shake.

Get up while shaking...”

I’m TRYING.

Then suddenly, it happens. My body figures out a better way to get up. I float up effortlessly.

But I can’t repeat it!

Ughh!

Reminds me of water skiing for the first time. After an afternoon of wiping out, I suddenly found myself on top of the water. I was so surprised that I freaked out, lost it, and wiped out again.

“Where you feel stuck, shake more!”

I’m mountain biking in Marin County. Breathing hard. Zigzagging up Mount Tamalpais. I smell eucalyptus and dirt.

Shaking is like a switchback!

The more switchbacks I add, the easier it is to get up. And with enough switchbacks, I may even float up. Like what dancers do when they seem to levitate off the ground.

Mind.

Blown.

Typically, I begin with the why, then proceed to the how.

Here, I start with the how, and somehow end up with the why.
