Batsheva Dance Company

Gaga’s development has taken place in parallel with Ohad Naharin’s work with Batsheva Dance Company, where he was artistic director from 1990-2018 and currently serves as house choreographer.  

Founded in 1964 by the Baroness Batsheva de Rothschild and now based at the Suzanne Dellal Centre in Tel Aviv, Batsheva Dance Company is one of the world’s most renowned contemporary dance troupes. Its outstanding roster of dancers, who hail from around the globe, train daily in Gaga and are active artistic collaborators in Naharin’s choreographic works. Under the artistic direction of Dr. Lior Avizoor, the company also commissions new creations and mounts existing repertory by select guest choreographers. 

Batsheva Dance Company and Batsheva Ensemble, its contingent of younger dancers, maintain a full schedule of performances throughout Israel and internationally.
