With a heavy heart, we share that Yaara Dolev, our beloved friend and colleague, passed away in Portugal on March 16, 2023.
A dance artist, choreographer, and Gaga teacher who performed with Batsheva Ensemble early in her career, Yaara became a guiding light for the growing Gaga community in Berlin and then in Portugal. She was also a meaningful teacher in Gaga Online, her energy and discoveries transcending the screen and spreading around the globe. Yaara’s luminous smile, incandescent presence, deliciously playful imagery, and deep passion for dance and for life swept Gaga users away. Over her many years of teaching, she inspired all of us – her fellow teachers and countless students.
We savor the memories of moving with Yaara and mourn her untimely loss, and we send our love to Yaara’s family as they move through this overwhelming time. May her memory continue to echo inside each of us who had the privilege to dance with her.
