Moving through Gaga with Limitations

Dance and Improve your Wellbeing with Gaga Online

We are all limited in one way or another. It’s important to admit our weaknesses and limitations, learn how to work with them, and keep moving through them in order to allow the body to heal and get stronger with small gestures. In Gaga, we create a supportive environment for each person to take care of themselves and undertake a nourishing process of discovery, growth, and healing. We ignite the entire body, learn to let go, nurture the flow of energy, and playfully challenge ourselves to go beyond our familiar limits on a daily basis while connecting to pleasure and lightness.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of Gaga Online while coping with illness, injury, pain, or tension.

  • Every time you feel your injury or limitation, become more gentle with your body. Try to let go, get softer, and spread your flesh where you feel contraction and fear.
  • Remember you have the rest of your body to move, sense, and enjoy.
  • If standing is hard for you at any point in the class, you may continue while seated (you can even do the whole class seated). Try to keep moving and follow the teacher’s instructions while sitting.
  • Stay supportive to yourself while recovering. Do not judge yourself or have high expectations from your body.
  • Try to be gentle and open, and allow yourself to move with small gestures and minimal effort. At the same time, try to maintain a high volume on your sensations.
  • You are welcome to write in the chat about your limitations so the teacher can be aware of it before the class begins.
